Well, this is my first blog post on the website so thanks for checking it out! I hope to write a little about the gigs that I do and just more generally about projects and other musical endeavours. 2025's most recent gig was a last minute affair arranged by the good folks over at Star Search Entertainment .. on Saturday I was this weeks 'star' (insert laughing emoji face here) and I promptly shoved all my kit into the car and drove the reasonable distance (for Ireland) of 1 hour down to Mullingar to find some seriously well dressed staff and me just being in a t-shirt, having not quite thought it through. Anyway off we went, with Marie very helpful as always helping as with much effort we bundled my equipment out of the car and into the venue and found far more teenagers inside the venue than i'd planned for in my song list, moving some Taylor Swift up to the top of the set list only for them all to leave the moment I started setting up.
As far as Saturday night gigs go it was a fairly quiet one, the already sparsely populated bar mostly filtering out by about 9.30 leaving me to direct my songs towards my wife and a small ground of women in the far corner. To be fair, the patrons that remained did at least clap, which doesn't always happen here in Ireland during gigs in pubs so it was quite fun in the end, and the €15 I won on a well-placed bet paid earlier in the day paid for the two drinks we had between us which came to ... €15 (gulp). Overall a very nice evening and probably the poshest place i've played in Ireland! Here's a couple of pics from the evening.
